Free Twitch Overlay Maker

Build a custom overlay in minutes: pick a theme, place your webcam and chat, add your name and socials, then use it as a transparent PNG or a live browser source in OBS.

How to add your overlay to OBS

1. Design

Open the editor and tune the theme, webcam corner, chat side and info bar.

2. Copy the URL

Use the live overlay URL. No files to download unless you want a PNG.

3. Add Browser Source

In OBS add a Browser source at 1920×1080, paste the URL, and put it above your game.

Works with your setup

OBS Studio

Browser source or transparent PNG.

Streamlabs

Use the same browser-source URL.

Kick

Vertical 9:16 layouts for Kick and TikTok Live.

YouTube

16:9 scenes that fit the standard canvas.

What is a Twitch overlay?

A Twitch overlay is the transparent layer on top of your gameplay: the webcam frame, chat box, name plate, goal bar and alert area. It is not part of the video itself — it sits above it in OBS, so you can change the design without re-recording anything.

A good overlay does three jobs: it makes the stream recognizable, it keeps chat and webcam readable on mobile, and it avoids covering the game HUD. That is why templates should be judged by layout and safe areas, not just colors.

FAQ

What size is a Twitch overlay?

1920×1080, the same as your OBS canvas. The editor exports at that size.

Is the PNG transparent?

Yes — everything except the frame, panels and bar is transparent, so your game shows through.

Can I use it on Kick or YouTube?

Yes. The overlay is platform-agnostic; only the canvas ratio changes.

Do I need an account?

No for designing and exporting. An account is only needed to keep projects and hosted overlays in sync.

Does the overlay cover my game HUD?

Choose a layout that keeps webcam and chat in corners, and keep text 5% away from the edges. Game-specific presets are on the roadmap.

Can I change the overlay after going live?

Yes. Edit the design, save it, then refresh the browser source in OBS. The URL stays the same.

Is there a watermark?

Free exports have no watermark. A small “Made with OverlayForge” badge appears on hosted free overlays and can be removed on Pro.

Can I use my own logo and fonts?

Logo upload is included. Custom font upload is part of Pro; the free editor includes a curated font set.
